Speak Carefully This Christmas

A Christmas Gift For You

why
During the holiday season we are likely to spend more time with friends and family and if we are not careful we may end up giving a gift that we do not intend to give.

A gift that might actually stay with our loved ones for a lifetime. This Christmas consider the gift you can give someone you love through the words that you speak. Consider the impact that your words may have on others.

To help us prepare for this season I want to give you this song "Why" as a free download.

It was written by a band called Life Support and it expresses the devastation that words can cause when they are harmful.

Download, listen, share with your friends and most importantly think carefully about the words that you speak this holiday season. Just "Right Click" why.mp3 and "Save As"

As human beings we totally underestimate the impact our words have on another person’s soul.

We are all know the rhyme that says ‘sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me’. Nice rhyme, but it’s just not true.

The truth is we are damaged by the harmful words spoken over us by others.

A little earlier in this Episode of Pine Mountain Road Mark and Dave were talking about the pain associated with how their fathers spoke to them while growing up, and Dave is beginning to realise that he is making the same mistake.

Here a question for you…Who gave us permission to speak to each other the way that we do?

It certainly wasn’t God. In fact the bible God gives us a clear warning that every human being is going to be held accountable to Him for every careless word they speak in this life.

Friends, this means we all have the responsibility to stop and think before we speak, especially if we’re angry.

A final thought for you… The person who has learned to control their tongue is destined for greatness and friendship in this life, as their words no longer tear people down but they encourage and build people up.

If you haven’t already, check out the video clip above and let me know your thoughts on the power of the tongue.

Until next time…

Keep searching out the truth for it’s the truth that brings freedom and life to yourself and to others
